Loving Destin Florida Vacations

I just came back from my 3rd vacation in Destin Florida, and WOW...its starting to become my favorite year roun vacation destination. I particularly love how easy and accessible the white sand beaches are from the rental properties we have been staying at. Each morning we take stroll and watch the sunrise, and each evening you get a piece of the sunset as well. When did Destin become so popular?? Each time I go there we run into more families who are amazed that they had not before discovered this "gem" of a getaway.

The photo to my right was our most recent villa with a access point to the beach... just a block a way from all the other vacation rental home. As you can see, the weather was amazing! Four straight days of excellent 80's, and blue skies. Next spring we are going with a big group and a couple family and we rented a 5 bedroom home through Vacation Destin Florida. There are soooo many rental homes in the area, make sure you check out a few sites and compare prices. Also, we have found that you should look into the property manager of the rental, some have been great, and others more of a hassle.

If your not used to the Florida sun make sure you bring your sun block. The white sand beaches in Destin Florida actually reflect the rays back on to you. Can't wait for my next Destin Vacation!!

Munich- Grab a Stein!

Augustiner Keller Beer Garden and Beer Hall
Augustiner Keller Beer Garden

Munich is bar far one of the best cities in Europe, I don't think there is many that will argue that. Its also amusing how when you travel country to country, to start reflecting on that 1/10 of you that might have some of that countries heritage. Well I am officially 1/4 German, but when I was in Munich I felt full blooded. The comradery in the city is unparrallel to anything you will find in the US.

I was fortunate enough to be completely confused by the euro-train system. I missed my train in Munich 4 times in one afternoon and had to wait till the next day to catch one. Did I complain? No. There is no complaining in Europe because everyday is the next best day of your life. I saw it as a sign that I had missed something in Munich and I needed to stay and find it. Well I found it...Augustiner Keller's Beer Garden. Fortunately we found it within 4 blocks of the train station.

The picture above could not describe it any better. Hundreds and sometimes thousands of people at once drinking Augustiner Steins- around 4 normal size beers. These cups are bigger than your head! Two of them and you will be trying to sing the German soccer chants :) We actually were in Munich right after they had won a huge Euro league soccer game. You cannot believe these people...they were going crazy. That night we took it in doors to a "beer hall" which was on the same property. Being cheap Americans that we were, we bought a case of beer and snuck it in, much to the disapproval of the locals and eventually leading to our departure of the hall.

There is a ton to do in Munich from site seeing to laying out on lake beaches. Before you go, do your research by reading lots of Munich travel blogs.

Prague- Great City? or Greatest City?

Back to the Blog here to rhyme on Prague,

Its different than Paris and not covered in Smog,

Thats why its at the top of my Travel Log!

Please refrain from commenting on that little piece I put together...just wanted to share my enthusiasm for one of the best cities in the world. Where can you start, it has something for everyone. I arrived there as the 2nd destination in Europe. The city is amazing and you can walk it in a day's time. Exchange rate is fantastic, food is to die for. We ate at a place call the crazy cow steak house and all enjoyed a wonderful meal with a glass of wine for around $11USD...although who knows what type of meat we were eating.

Its nightlife is the benchmark of Europe. Many will claim that Berlin is world renowned for nightlife but I found it just the opposite. We started at a real nice local bar and drank a couple shots of absinthe...don't be fooled, you don't actually hallucinate you just get realllly drunk (140 proof). Afterwards we headed for a club where I danced for the second time in my life. The club (forget the name...help!) was 5 stories high and each level had a different theme of music. In the front they also had costume rentals for you super hero fans. Everyone leaves the club to find out its 8am the next morning and people are shopping the streets. Its quite a scene. The gentleman clubsclubs are no to shabby either for those who want to experience Europe to the fullest.

Paris...I'd Rather See It On T.V.

Thinking About Traveling to Paris

...think again. I found it to be by far the worst city I visited while backpacking through Europe. I know there are some Paris enthusiasts that are going to hate to hear me bad mouth their city, but it was honestly a let down. Now if you are going to see the Eiffle Tower, Notre Dame, or some of the fine mueseums than by all mean go! However, if you want to go somewhere for a nice romantic vacation try Switzerland, the Italian Rivera, or even Normandy, France. What I disliked some much was the commercialization of the city, the massive size, and well...the french.

Paris was actually the only city that I visited that I was not able to walk in a days time. Thats the whole point of backpacking Europe! I found some interesteing bloggers with like minds on this site
Travolti. It seems to be a younger group, or atleast those were the blogs I read. I am really looking forward to going back to europe next year. I think I am going to spend the majority of my travels in Spain. Anyone have any suggestions on places to go?
